Tiene una amplia trayectoria docente y de dirección académica en diversas universidades públicas y privadas, tanto en Chile como en el extranjero. Asimismo, ha realizado múltiples consultorías de carácter nacional e internacional, en las temáticas de Políticas Públicas, Capital Humano, Planificación Estratégica , desarrollo organizacional y Gestión para Resultados en la gestión pública subnacional.
Ha ocupado diversos cargos directivos en el sector público de Chile, entre ellos el Ministerio de Planificación y la Subsecretaria de Desarrollo Regional y Administrativo (SUBDERE), Ministerio del Interior.
En la actualidad forma parte del Grupo Académico de Trabajo Internacional (GTAI) para evaluar la reforma educacional en México, Subsecretaria de Educación Pública, Gobierno Federal, México.
De igual forma, es miembro de la Comunidad de Expertos de América Latina en Gestión Para Resultados en la efectividad del desarrollo (COPLAC- GpR) del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) por medio de la cual ha sido invitado a ser parte de la red de conferencistas y de formación en diversos países, tales como Corea, Brasil, México, Argentina, Ecuador, entre otros.
Es miembro del Registro de Pares evaluadores de Postgrados de la Comisión Nacional de Acreditación (CNA- Chile)
En la Universidad de Valparaíso es Profesor Titular y ejerce docencia en las áreas de gestión local - regionaly es Editor de la Revista “Análisis Público”, de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y administrativas, Escuela de Administración Pública.
En el sector privado ocupa el cargo de Gerente de Servicios Ambientales en el Grupo IASA.
